I began my career in what now seems a strange place for a marketing professional; after graduating from Virginia Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts, I became an illustrator for a defense contractor, drawing ships and aircraft blowing each other up. In 1987, though, I joined Pennzoil as a designer, producing packaging, logos, racing banners, and point-of-sale displays for that company's several brands.
Since that time, both in my day job and as a freelancer, I have helped develop corporate identity designs, logos, websites, trade show displays, and produced fully integrated campaigns for a wide variety of businesses. My clients have included local restaurants, professional and trade associations, and large corporations. I bring to the table a unique combination of experience in business-to-business and consumer marketing, an intense attention to clients' business objectives, and award-winning design instincts.
I have designed successful marketing campaigns for such clients as Texas Instruments, America Online, and Duron Paints. My websites for have won awards for design excellence. I working closely with clients to align creative efforts with the business objectives and direct the design of innovative campaigns from concept through production and execution.
I have illustrated a book, designed a mock-up for board game, art directed photo and video shoots, managed the design and production of many annual reports and created storyboards for corporate videos and television ads. I love the creative process and would love to have opportunity to create something for you.
